Objective: SWBAT practice using the preterite with ?er/-ir verbs.
I. Opening
a. objective/attendance/hmk chk
b. vámonos: words for past overhead?write on back of vocab sheet
II. Preterite Song (about 20 min process)
a. elicite what the preterite is (a verb tense in the past)
b. take out your notes sheet with the endings on it
c. Song: ?Preterito Remix? (to the tune of B-I-N-G-O)

íó (endings are sung 3 times)

NOW STOP
What about the plural?!!
Girrrrlllllllll??.break it down! (dance: harlem shake)
imos, ieron, imos, ieron, imos, ieron?..let?s get our cheer on!
d. 1 std from each row comes to the front and holds up a huge cheerleader style
poster with the preterite ending on it. each row yells their ending on cue from the
teacher: ?-í - ?iste - ?io - imos -ieron?!!!!!
(repeat as desired...it should have the effect of a cheer at a football game w/ high
(stds get very pumped about the preterite and they remember the conjugations!)
III. Review Preterite hmk
a. go over hmk on overhead
b. answer the following questions on back of hmk:
1. A que hora saliste de casa esta mañana?
2. Aprendiste algo nuevo en la clase de español ayer?
3. Escribiste una composición en la clase de ingles?
4. Viste una película en una clase ayer?
5. A que hora saliste de la escuela?
6. A que hora volviste a casa?
IV. Weird Preterites Ir/Dar/Ver
a. elicite which three verbs don?t have accents
b. conjugate three weird verbs on board
c. vocab/pret quiz (may use vocab list, not book)
- pick up tape strip

a. dar/ver wksheet
b. vocab crossword
