Assessment 1 - Inserting Links and Images into HTML Pages

Assessment 1 - Inserting Links and Images into HTML Pages

  1. Create a new Web page called "Links_and_Images.htm" with all the basic HTML tags and save it in your HTML folder.
  2. Add the following content to the <TITLE> tag – “HTML Links and Images”
  3. Create a heading for your page Called "My Favorite Things".  Format the Heading as Arial, bold it and make the text size 6.
  4. Under the heading Create a Roman numbered list of three of your favorite things. Format all the information in the list as family "Futura".  Under each item write at least two short paragraphs (one or two sentences) about the thing.  Within one of the paragraphs place an image of the thing you are discussing.  The image can be positioned any where within the text that you wish but it should not look disjointed with the content of the paragraph.
  5. Create at least one external hyperlink going to another Web page that is related to the subject of your item.  Make sure the link opens the Web page in a new window, not the existing window.  The link can be a text link or an image link.
  6. Insert a horizontal rule at the bottom of the page.
  7. After the horizontal rule, type your name, aligned to the right, bolded, underlined and italicized.
  8. Copy the file onto a floppy disk and turn in to your instructor.
